I love learning new languages and just recently began to try my hand at learning Hindi online. However, I wanted to see if there were other resources out there to make my learning experience even easier and travel-friendly. It turns out, there are actually loads of apps out there for language learning – I had no idea. I came across a website called AppGrooves with a top 10 list of the best apps to learn Hindi. I decided to check some of them out – I’ll leave the link below if you want to have a look – and I was really surprised at how awesome they were.

List of Top 10 Apps for Learning Hindi

In just a matter of minutes, I was able to learn basic words and phrases, browse cultural facts and references, and view current Hindi news for a better understanding of the four dialects. How crazy is that? I didn’t want to keep this find all to myself, so I decided to include my three favorite apps here in the hopes that they would help those of you out who are interested in learning Hindi like me.

There are so many fun quizzes and flashcard decks available on Simply Learn Hindy that learning a new language isn’t intimidating – finally! You have the option to choose from a variety of free lessons and then review your scores to keep track of the progress you’ve made. I also think Simply Learn Hindi is really helpful as a translator. There is an organized category system that is easy to navigate, so you can quickly find more than 1,000 words and phrases if you’re in a pinch. You also have the opportunity to listen to accurate pronunciations from native speakers, which is great for enhancing your speaking skills.

Simply Learn Hindi’s lessons and phrasebook are both available for free, so I won’t lie, you will see ads. I personally didn’t mind them and I think it’s a small price to pay given all the features you have available to you at no cost, but, ultimately, that’s up for you to decide.

Take Hindi Learning On-the-Go with Hindi Dictionary English

What’s really nice about Hindi Dictionary English is that it’s designed for students, professionals and travelers alike, so it has 72,000 English and 86,000 Hindi words in an offline dictionary you can access anytime. You’re able to quickly find the right word at the right time, which is incredibly convenient, and you can save text translations for use in the future. I’ve really enjoyed the flash card, multiple choice and word guess games available. They’re especially helpful if you like to practice in a way that’s immersive rather than boring and repetitive.

I will warn you that some of the Hindi words on this app tend to be a bit old-school and are not used as much in the present day. That being said, I still think the extensive dictionary available on this app is an essential resource. It’s so easy to translate English to Hindi or Hindi to English, and it works both on and offline, so you can take it with you wherever you go, which is very important if you’re traveling.

Learn Hindi Quickly is another great option for learning Hindi because it has lessons available on a vast variety of languages. All the quizzes, flashcards and translations are available in 18 languages so, in terms of accessibility, a lot of people have the option to learn Hindi through this app. And, it starts off with the basics, like the alphabet, which is ideal for beginners like me. After that, you slowly work your way up, learning key phrases and grammar. Like Hindi Dictionary English, you’re also able to search through a library of words and phrases, but these have been recorded by a native Hindi Speaker so you can perfect your pronunciation too.

If you’re looking for a more condensed selection of words to jumpstart your Hindi skills, you might prefer Hindi Dictionary English because of its wide variety of words and phrases.
